2:45 - Moderator will introduce (alphabetically) the 4/5 schools to Rob Seitz. Each school will identify themselves and indicate where they are on the map and what watershed they are in.
Name of school, class, city, location, watershed, etc.
Map of our watershed, including major rivers, creeks, etc., - could use Google Earth or another watershed map
3:00 - Rob will present on watershed study and what can be learned from this study.
3:15 - Each school (alphabetically) will give a 5 minute presentation on their watershed - (Next school will ask one question)
Environmental issues (land use .. urban, agricultural, industrial, etc.)
Surrounding influences on watershed (power plants and other industrial influences)
History of growth in the area that affects land use
Rainfall and other environmental statistics
Include pictures and other resources as applicable
3:40 - Moderator will bring the event to closure with the essential questions and the "assignment" for the classes.
Essential Questions
What is the health of a stream and of our stream and what are the indicators?
What does it mean for a stream to be healthy?
How healthy is our stream and what indicates that - Chemical, Physical, biological?
Session 2 Watershed Timeline (May 19):
2:45 - Moderator will introduce the schedule for the session and introduce each school in alphabetical order.
2:50 - Each school will have 10 minutes to share their study (8 to present and 2 for questions)
3:40 - Moderator will bring the event to closure with a review of what was learned and challenge for the future.
